Hot Forging
Datum has been manufacturing hot forged fasteners for the commerical industries since 1961. In 1998 we gained Rolls-Royce and Society of British Aerospace (SBAC) approvals and have been supplying hot forged threaded components into the aerospace industry ever since. Hot forging of heads and features on fasteners offers exceptional strength in comparison to turned forms and also allows a vast number of forms and drive types to be produced including:-
- 24 Point
- 12 point (bi-hex)
- Hexagon
- Square head
- Round head
Our hot forging facility consists of 5 hot forging presses with laser temperature control ensuring precise forging temperatures, we forge a variety of materials including :-
- Steel various grades including stainless, super duplex, EN19, EN24 and EN26
- Titanium
- Inconel
- Waspalloy
- Durahete 900 and 1055
- Nimonic
In addition we offer a complete service including any special coatings or platings including :-
- Phosphate
- Cadmium
- Dacromet
- Xylan
- Zinc
All fasteners are fully traceable and can be supplied with a C of C as a minimum up to PPAC and third party witness
