Thread Rolling
Thread rolling is used for fasteners requiring optimum grain flow and exceptional strength in comparison to thread cutting. Thread rolling forms the thread from a precisely calculated diameter and rolls the thread into its form.
Typical applications for these bolts include engine connecting rods bolts, aircraft engine fasteners, cylinder head bolts, crankcase marry bolts, crankshaft balance weight bolts, rod eye ends, piston rods, threaded studs for offshore equipment and satellite fasteners.
Datum have seven thread rolling machines capable of thread rolling parts up to 6" diameter
Qualified to aerospace standards we hold on stock a vast array thread rolls for various sizes, forms and pitches and thread roll numerous materials including, alloy and stainless steels, nimonics, inconnell, titanium, waspalloy, duplex and super duplex and non ferrous.
